Vintage Studio Monitor review

While Listening:

    ooh yeah that bass! Tawobi with THAT VOICE. dunana duna! This track is very hype, very "lit" as one would say. The production is incredible, mastered to perfection. Cut the beat out, I like that. Oh hell yeah I love the gibberish/scat bro. Classic hip hop bell, noted. Okay wow the part after the 2nd chorus is HARD. Super trippy sound, I love the layered vocals; very spooky and fills the room. Last chorus is lot, booming bass to take us out. Damn good 2 minute track.

Real Talk:

-Tawobi my good sir your vocal sound is perfect. BIG sound, loud as the bass, that's the shit. -Tasteful use of classic hip hop samples/sounds.

-Pro quality sound, again, mastered to perfection
-Fuck BC and AD.  It's Before Wobi and After Wobi.


2- Apollo - Story To Tell (Ft. E)

While Listening:

    I like that fluttering sound and the strings in the beginning, very nice. Title says it all; Apollo has a story to tell! The beat is definitely a 'storytelling beat' good choice. I always like filtered vocals with some reverb. Ooh then the adlibs have the same effect. This song has such a vibe... very wavy, spacy, airy. Smooth flow with the bright bell sounds are wonderful. Very tasteful echo in the outro. Overall, the track was a vibe.

Real Talk:

-The sound aesthetic is on point; your vocals and the beat tie together well. They belong together. -For the production, less high end, more low end. -I wanna hear you get more creative with the adlibs and vocal effects -Your flow/timing could use some improvement. Tightening up your rhythm would improve the quality of the song significantly. You still better than 85% of these motherfuckers out here lol.

3- Young Guapo - Check (Freestyle 2018)

While Listening:

    Imma describe the into as 'enticing'. Some loud ass vocals. Guapo is gettin' it! Lowkey the adlibs are making me laugh. Rhyme game on fire, and on a freestyle? 'SMOKIN ON A ZIP' Like the shouting rap sound you got. Production needs some work, sounds a bit thin. Kicks hit good, wanting more bass in the mix, though. Its another get in get it get out 2 minuter!! Overall, Check by Young Guapo is a respectable freestyle rap.

Real Talk:

-The overall production quality can be improved. Your voice deserves better! -I love the energy of this track

-There's a lot of creativity in your rhymes.  You rhymed 'bag' and 'match' and made it work, so props to you
-You have respect for the 2 minute song structure.

4- ILL$ - smokeandmirrors (Prod. By Maddog)  Vintage Studio Monitor review

While Listening:

    MOTHERFUCKER IS THAT AN ACCORDION?! Okay so accordion and autotune; I'm lit for it let's go! I am very into this vaporwave-ish autotune anthem thing. Music to chill out to. 'Smoke and mirrors/I see it clearer' smooth rhyme there, has a great ring to it. Oh yes pls give me more harmonies. I'm thinking maybe you said smokeandmirrors too many times towards the end lol. Overall, this a fresh sound. My speakers loved it.

Real Talk:

-The vocal sound is big, beautiful, smooth, silky, all that good shit.

-Vocal rhythm and timing can be improved upon
-I could sing along to this track by the end, which is often important
-Acceptable use of the accordion.

5- TRk -Demons

Vintage Studio Monitor review

While Listening:

    Evil laugh at the start hell yeah! Imma use the term 'Emo Piano' for the beat. I got almost an entire minute of that demon voice and I very much appreciate that. Ooh some nice fast flows, killing it TRk! Got some changes to the beat and flow here. Oh wait! more demon voice fuck yeah! Final words of the track make for a dope ending. Overall, Demons is a perfect title and I want to hear what TRk has in store for us in the future!

Real Talk:

-The subject matter of the lyrics felt a little empty. Tell me a story. -Great work on the fast flows, rhythm could be a bit tighter

-I applaud you for maintaining the theme of demons all the way into production. Artistic! That concludes this week's 10 reviews.
